Michael A. Gordon - Executive Director
Since 2000, Michael has been deeply involved in all aspects of life at Sunset House; he was instrumental in organizing the effort to transition from a half-way house to a state-licensed treatment facility eight years ago. In August, 2004, he was promoted to Executive Director, and now works closely with the Board of Directors on matters ranging from budgetary needs to ensuring compliance with state licensing. Mr. Gordon brings his extensive background in business to our facility, and understands how to manage the competing demands of a special institution like Sunset House.
David Arthur - Facilities Director
David has been on the Sunset House staff since November, 2007. As Facilities Director, he oversees client recreational activities and facility maintenance, ensuring that all Sunset House clients have a safe, pleasant environment in which to recover. Prior to entering the addictions field, Mr. Arthur worked as a boat captain and traveled the world; he brings these rich experiences with him in his current work with those in the first stages of recovery. Margarita Flemma, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, L.M.F.T., C.A.P., C.Ht. – Clinical Director
Margarita has been intimately involved in the field of substance abuse treatment since 1988, the year she competed her thesis on cocaine paste addiction for her Clinical Psychology degree from Catholic University in Lima, Peru. Her extensive experience includes involvement at all levels of substance abuse treatment in Peru, Colombia, Panama and the U.S. She has been associated with Sunset House since 2000. Besides bringing more than 28 years of study and experience to bear, her personal philosophy "all problems have solutions" provides a positive, uplifting force to the Sunset House community. George Stoupas, C.A.C. - Primary Therapist
George has been with Sunset House since April, 2008. He is a Board Certified Addiction Counselor and is currently completing graduate studies in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. As a primary therapist, George works closely with the rest of the clinical team to ensure that Sunset House clients receive quality services that meet their individual needs. He is responsible for facilitating therapy groups and meets with clients for individual sessions on a weekly basis. Most importantly, George loves his job and is proud to help those just beginning their journey of self-exploration in recovery.

Vanessa Erdinger, M.S. - Program Director/Primary Therapist
New addition to the Sunset House, Vanessa is a graduate from Nova Southeastern University with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and has been dedicating her career in working in the field of substance abuse. With extensive experience in working in different treatment settings and a wide array of populations; Vanessa’s humanistic approach ensures that proper personalized care is being provided to our clients. As such, Vanessa individually works with our clients, but also holds marital and family counseling as well as facilitates psycho educational and process groups in order to challenge and empower clients hence ensuring the mastering of skills that will promote a healthy and life long sustained recovery.
